Coming from I-75 in Michigan, you will first go through the "International Bridge" Toll Station, then cross the bridge and go through Canadian Customs.

After coming through customs, turn right, and you will see the "Travel Information Center"
across the intersection.

Before leaving Sault Ste. Marie, make sure you HAVE ALL YOUR GROCERIES and supplies, Searchmont only has one Convenience Store, where you can buy last minute supplies like
milk, butter, some canned goods, snacks, frozen foods, alcoholic and other beverages, etc. Snowmobile trail permits and Fishing permits can be bought here as well.
Follow signs to Hwy 17 North. Do not travel East! Follow Hwy 17 North out of Sault Ste.Marie
for about 10 miles to Heyden. Turn right at the Esso station onto Hwy 556. It's about 20 miles
to Searchmont, crossing the Railroad tracks four times.
Passing the "Searchmont Resort" sign, continue on through the town of Searchmont where
you will see"Ker-Lin's General Store" on your right.
Here you can stock up on last minute groceries, buy gas, rent videos etc.
It is open until 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 9 p.m. weekends.
Now it's about 4.5 miles to "Sky Bear Lodge". Continue on and cross a One-Lane-Bridge;
shortly after the road will turn gravel or snow packed and winds into the mountains.
You will see a road turning left (Station Road), but continue to drive ahead and straight
into the Wabos Valley.At the end of the Valley there's a sharp right turn in the
road. There you will see our blue and white sign, "SKY BEAR LODGE".
At night it is lit up for you!
Turn left into the driveway at the sign for the "Grand Chalet"; drive straight into the north driveway if you rented the "Sky Bear Chalet".
