CROSSING THE BORDER IS AS EASY AS 1-2-3 !

You do need a passport now to cross the boarder from Canada back into the United States. However, if you do not own a passport You can apply for your passport. If it has not arrived before your trip to Canada, you can bring the following:

  • a copy (proof) of your passport application
  • birth certificate
  • Photo ID (drivers license)
If you are not planning to fly to a foreign country anytime soon and do not wish to spend money for a new passport ($ 120.), some U.S. states offer "enhanced drivers licenses" for $ 40., which can serve in place of a passport. If you apply for one and do not get it back on time, staple the application for the "enhanced drivers license" to your old drivers license.
